Personal Qualification Programme
ISO 26262

Bild
The following seminars are offered and conducted by our cooperation partner SGS-TÜV Saar GmbH
Go to:
  • Module K2 - Management of Functional Safety (FSM)
  • Module K3 - Concept Development
  • Module K4 - System Development
  • Module K5 - Hardware Development
  • Module K6 - Software Development
Personal qualification programme Automotive

The more complex the technology the more experts for Functional Safety are needed. But the question is: who is an expert for Functional Safety? ISO 26262 does not answer this question. On the one hand it demands that only experts assess or manage Functional Safety but on the other it does not specify any of the prerequisites to be met by someone who may be considered an expert.

SGS-TÜV Saar as an accredited services provider now offers you the possibility to impart the technical knowledge for Functional Safety to personnel and to thereby qualify them. As an individual possessing this qualification, you justify or even increase your market value. As a business, you have the opportunity to have your staff qualified by an independent party and to secure this technical knowledge for the long term.

Content
SGS-TÜV Saar qualifies you or your staff for working with Functional Safety. SGS-TÜV Saar has developed a 2-step qualification programme for this purpose. After successful completion of this programme the SGS-TÜV Saar seal confirms to the attendee that he/she is an expert for Functional Safety.

Prerequisites
The first expert status is called "AFSP" (Automotive Functional Safety Professional): This status will be awarded to you after you have successfully passed the test after completion of the training module. Attendance of the preparatory training modules or, alternatively, proof of completion of equal training, is a prerequisite for admission to the test.

The second expert status is called "AFSE" (Automotive Functional Safety Expert): To attain it, you will have to demonstrate that you have performed relevant work for at least five years. Individuals desiring to achieve this status have to apply with the SGS-TÜV Saar Testing Commission, document their experience in Functional Safety and successfully pass a qualification audit.

Validity
Both qualifications (AFSP and AFSE) are valid for three years. By attending an update workshop you can extend the qualification by another three years, provided you have successfully passed the multiple choice test at the end of the workshop. In justified exceptional cases (illness etc.) the Testing Commission may confirm your qualification and without your attendance of the update workshop.

Description
Confirmation of the knowledge acquired as part of a 2-hour exam. A passed examination entitled to use the title "AFSP" (Automotive Functional Safety Professional).

Examination Content
  • Checked the contents of the training modules K2 – K6 under a 2-hour multiple choice test
  • Validity of the qualification: 3 years
  • After 3 years, a proof of competence is aimed at renewing the certificate for another 3 years required

More info about training dates, prices and registration for AFSP training can be found on the website of our cooperation partner SGS TÜV Saar GmbH.

MODULE K 2
Management of Functional Safety (FSM)
Safety Management – Processes – Supporting Processes

Description
The new ISO 26262 standard describes management of Functional Safety as the essential basis for the development of safety-relevant electronics in motor vehicles. In an illustrative way this training module demonstrates the aspects to be considered when introducing an FSM system and the tasks faced by both the responsible safety managers at the quality level and the safety managers at the project level.

Content
  • Introduction into the topic of safety management
  • Required safety processes in addition to the established quality assurance system
  • Complementary processes in development – extension of supporting processes
  • Responsibilities of safety managers at project level and their practical implementation

Duration
1 day

Target group
Project managers, safety managers, QM managers

More info about training dates, prices and registration for Module K 2 can be found on the website of our cooperation partner SGS TÜV Saar GmbH.

MODULE K 3
Concept Development
From risk analysis to the Functional Safety concept

Description
The agenda for Functional Safety is already set during the course of the concept development at vehicle level. This module addresses vehicle manufacturers as well as suppliers who need to know how safety objectives are defined and Functional Safety requirements are derived. The current interpretation of the standards is presented and discussed in practical exercises.

Content
  • Item definition requirements with practical exercise
  • Performance of a risk analysis with risk assessment based on an illustrative example
  • Derivation of Functional Safety requirements and elaboration of an exemplary Functional Safety concept

Duration
1 day

Inhouse: 1 or ½ day

MODULE K 4
System Development
Technical safety concept and system design

Description
Building directly upon the example in training module K3 this module addresses the technical concept design of a system and its sub-systems. In addition, the topic of issues relating to interface definition between the OEM and the supplier(s) is addressed. Knowledge of the relevant interactions is intensified in illustrative exercises.

Content
  • Interface definition between OEM-supplier(s) and supplier(s)-supplier(s)
  • Definition of technical safety requirements relating to the total system and allocated sub-systems
  • Elaboration of a technical safety concept using an example, derived in module K3, incl. hardware/software-interface specification
  • Required integration tests and process steps through to production approval
