Cooperation: SGS TÜV Saar and Process Fellows sign cooperation agreement
October 26, 2020
SGS-TÜV Saar and Process Fellows have agreed on an extensive cooperation in the area of product development according to Automotive SPICE® and Functional Safety, thus reacting to the growing customer demand. While the requirements of these two standards are mandatory for both manufacturers and suppliers, they are now increasingly being extended to other development disciplines (keywords "Mechanical SPICE" and "Hardware SPICE") and supplemented by the topic of security. Effective and efficient development processes that support a sensible combination of these standards avoid internal duplication of effort and inconsistencies and help to control product risks. As a result of this cooperation, all topics are now integrated in one service package - from training, consulting, and gap analyses to audits and assessments.
In the future, customers will have direct access to the combined support of two market-leading partners, both nationwide and internationally: the Process Fellows as experts on the relevant SPICE process models on the one hand, and the SGS-TÜV Saar as a neutral accredited service provider for Functional Safety and Security for Safety on the other. The smooth integration of these areas into customer-internal process landscapes allows the use of synergy effects and leads to optimized and lean procedures in the implementation and assessment of development processes. These meet not only the standard quality requirements of ISO 9001 or IATF 16949, but also the specific audits and assessments according to Automotive SPICE®, Functional Safety (e.g. ISO 26262) or Cyber Security (e.g. ISO 21434). In addition, a comprehensive seminar program in this subject area is available to all interested parties.
"Quality with all its characteristics plays an immensely important role in the automotive environment. One of the greatest challenges is to find an efficient way to meet all the requirements of the standards. Together with SGS-TÜV Saar, we can offer our customers the best possible support in mastering this task," says Bernhard Sechser, Managing Director of the Process Fellows and Principal Consultant for Functional Safety and Automotive SPICE®.
Martin Schmidt, Head of the Global Competence Center Functional Safety at SGS-TÜV Saar adds: "The special competence of the Process Fellows in the field of development processes ideally complements the existing services of SGS-TÜV Saar and the SGS Group in the field of functional safety, as well as the services of tomorrow in the areas of automated driving and security. The joint service offerings are certainly unique in terms of the depth of the know-how and the diversity of the services offered".
